Our Financial Controller will play a essential role of the company’s financial operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, compliance with accounting standards, and the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial analysis.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including overseeing the financial operations, audits, planning and reporting of Aera.

The position reports to CFO and will be part of the "Finance and International Growth" team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility of the company's financial reporting
  • Prepare and present financial reports to management and board
  • Cost management
  • European growth - Ensure the company’s presence and compliance with regulations in international markets
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards and regulations
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to management
  • Coordinate external accounting team, internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure optimal financial health


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (master’s degree is a plus)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in economics, accounting, or finance
  • Experience from financial management will be emphasized.
  • Experience with auditing is an advantage
  • You will work in an international environment, so strong English skills are required (and French and Dutch is a plus)
  • Previous experience from the payment industry, banking, finance is a plus but not requirement
