About the job:

Saxo Bank Securities Ltd is looking for a Non-Financial Risk Champion, reporting regional Non-Financial Risk Champion and matrix reporting to local COO, to help identify and support the implementation of the necessary first line operational risk management capabilities to safeguard our clients and interest as well as optimizing our processes, continuously assessing our risk exposures and facilitate an increased risk awareness and risk culture amongst teams and colleagues.

The position is brand new in Japan so this is a role for a self-driven, patient but determined candidate with experience in NFR framework.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring critical outsourcing vendors and the extent that their SLA’s are being met.

  • Responsible for ensuring that System Incidents (whether caused by humans or software) are documented and that regulator reports are closed in a timely manner, as well as following up on prevention measures or corrective actions to determine that they are correctly implemented.

  • Monitor that critical system configurations such as margin requirements, commission fees and charges, and tradable instruments, customer account settings etc. have not been updated outside of approved policies and procedures.

  • Participates in the Products and Services Committee and follows up that any conditionally approved products and services are taken back to the committee at the relevant time.

  • Oversees and delivers operational risk management information that can be used to track performance and spot potential risk gaps.

  • Ensures oversight of Risk Events, analysis of root causes, patterns identified, validation of all corrective actions.

  • Oversees the risk-control activities in their areas. Risk Champion may cover multiple departments, in agreement with the leaders of each department.

  • Supports with education of colleagues regarding NFRM framework and processes, how to apply them correctly to the business activities.

  • Ensures that the required NFRM data and information in Saxo’s internal document storage system is kept complete and up to date

  • Coordinates the execution of the NFRM cycle (e.g., risk assessments, controls monitoring, reporting to committees)

  • Ensures that there are clear risk mitigation strategies in place for risk and controls identified during the Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process.

  • Coordinates and ensures that Business Continuity Plans (BCP) are in place and work in accordance with the business model. Conducts BCP training for Senior Management group.

  • Develops effective working relationships with all stakeholders internally within the region and within the wider Saxo Group and externally.

  • Drives, promote and monitor continuous improvement in the Risk Culture in the office.

  • Monitors and tracks all Audit requirements (both internal & external) ensuring that all stakeholders complete accurately and within the defined time scales
