GKYC / CDD Guidance Design & Implementation Specialist
The Global KYC organization is a relatively new organization in which all KYC related capabilities are combined into a functionally steered organization. This with the aim to maintain and improve the effective & efficient management of ING’s AML/Financial Economic Crime (FEC) risks, a.o. by establishing standardized guidance, processes, technology and shared operational processing.
The CDD and KYC Control domain ensures that ING has a state-of-the-art CDD practice in place, is effectively and efficiently managing the CDD risk and operations and the overall KYC Retail & Wholesale risk across countries to improve both effectiveness and efficiency. It includes definition of the CDD Target Operating Model, in a way to comprise all AML/ KYC related policies and implement this as a global standard across the world, the oversight of the bank wide CDD business as usual (BAU) activities, including operational execution across Retail and Wholesale (service ownership).
As a CDD Guidance Designer and Implementation Specialist you will be based in Amsterdam on a 36- or 40-hour contract, and report hierarchically and functionally to the Expert Lead CDD Guidance Design & Implementation.
Roles and responsibilities
The CDD Guidance Design & Implementation Specialist is a subject matter expert within the Global KYC/CDD organization responsible for activities such as creation and maintenance of global KYC standards, guidance, and working instructions.
The Specialist has an advisory role on KYC content expertise towards all key stakeholders such as Business, Operations and Delivery Tribes.
The Specialist works closely together with the CDD Operations and CDD Transformation teams. The specialist collaborates in the design with the other professionals in the CDD Guidance Design and Implementation team.
The Specialist plays a leading part on behalf of the first line in discussions with second line of defense where it concerns requirements in the KYC policies.
Be responsible for the Global KYC Standards and Guidance and agreement to be compliant and alignment of these Global KYC Standards, Guidance and Working Instructions with other GKYC CDD teams, Compliance, Delivery Tribes and other first line stakeholders.
Advise key stakeholders and global projects / programs from a content expertise perspective.
Collaborate with the other professionals in the CDD Guidance Design & Implementation team on the design of KYC Standards, Guidance and Workplace Instructions.
Lead and own relevant topics within the CDD Guidance Design & Implementation team including guiding and advising other professionals of the team. Managing expectations, goals and timelines of the topic.
Create and update the KYC Standards, Guidance and Workplace Instructions.
Provide guidance and requirements to the Delivery Tribes for development of tactical and structural solutions.
Provide input and work together with second line of defense on KYC Policy requirements.
Be able to implement improvements to KYC Standards, Guidance and Workplace Instructions.
In collaboration with the other GKYC CDD professionals, the Specialist is actively involved in the maintenance, development and realization of (new) products / services / functionalities for (end) user on the Global KYC structural solutions.
Apply one’s experience in marketing, strategic road mapping and adhering to target audiences in the fast-changing KYC landscape and context of digital transformation.
Be responsible for the development of craftmanship – How a job should be done.
Be the point of contact for the global Subject Matter Expert community.
Validate learning materials from the KYC Academy and facilitate training for your area of expertise.
Stimulate cross-border interaction and alignment between people, expertise teams, Squads, Chapters, Front-Office organizations, and Service organizations both in central and local business lines.

Preferably accreditation or certification in FEC, FATCA, CRS or ESR expertise areas.
KYC subject matter expertise in a large multi-national environment.
Relevant track record of working in the area of KYC and thorough understanding of the current market and regulatory conditions and challenges that the financial industry faces.
10+ years’ experience working in global financial services industry with demonstrable success in leading change, preferably with large global financial institutions
Fluent in English, written and spoken.
Good communication, networking and influencing skills.
Understanding of key regulations (such as FEC, ESR, FATCA, CRS) and their respective effects on the operational landscape of KYC including the interaction with the second line of defense.
Possess a thorough understanding of the entire customer life cycle of a client within a financial institution incl. understanding of Data and Systems used in KYC process
Ability to build bridges and be able to span between different levels, different people and different cultures. The relationships are built on capability and trust.
Proven good communication, convincing and advisory skills with the ability to work at all levels within the organization.
Ability to facilitate decision-making to help complex design topics to come to a conclusion.
Possess a track record of injecting KYC subject matter expertise, in a fast-moving, challenging environment.
Good organizational sensitivity: ability to understand and take into account the underlying issues, opportunities and dynamics of an international organization with multiple functional lines and one hierarchical line and deal with multiple, and potentially conflicting, interests.
Ability to work successfully with multiple countries and make sure these different cultures work together as one team.
Strong resilience: ability to navigate through ambiguity and simplify complexity without losing essence.
Ability to ‘get people on board’ and ensure necessary buy-in from stakeholders.
Hands-on team player.
