ING is looking for a Behavioural Risk Consultant to join the Risk Culture & Behavioural Risk Management department (RC&BR) within the domain of the Chief Risk Officer. The RC&BR department was set up in 2022 to put risk culture on the agenda of the bank globally. Specifically, the aim of the department is to provide a clear vision, aligned strategy and sound methodological approach to identify, assess, and bring change to the way employees of ING act on risks. In doing so, the RC&BR department wants to drive a sound risk culture that reflects the dynamic business and regulatory environment in which ING operates.

The team

The vacancy is in the Risk Culture & Behavioural Risk Assessment team. This team is responsible for selecting areas that are more prone to behavioural risks and/or can benefit from better understanding underlying human behaviours within ING (Identification). After the identification of these areas, the team carries out behavioural risk assessments across the bank to identify and analyze high-risk behaviour and their drivers. The goal is to understand and assess in a systematic way what drives undesired habits at ING. After the behavioural risk assessment is done, the Risk Culture & Behavioural Intervention team works together with the business to mitigate behavioural risk for ING, by determining interventions which impacts all levels of the organization.

The team is also responsible for monitoring INGs Risk Culture by developing and maintaining the Risk Culture Dashboard, including Maturity Model and underlying data sources and indicators. The team produces the Risk Culture Dashboard every year, to create insights for the MBB and local ING entities to have a meaningful conversation about INGs Risk Culture.

Roles and responsibilities

As part of this new and enthusiastic team you work in a global context. One of the key elements of your work is working on behavioural risk assessments. You will be working on the scoping, fieldwork, analysis and reporting of the assessments. During the analysis phase of the behavioural risk assessments, you will be analyzing quantitative (e.g. survey data) and qualitative data (interview and observation data). The insights are the key building block to support the organization with behavioural change. Also, you will be working on the Risk Culture Dashboard development and execution. This means that you will support the improvement of the Risk Culture Dashboard indicators, help with the collection of the data, and deriving the indicators.

You believe working on risk culture and behavioural risk is key for a bank. You are enthusiastic about working with data, are skilled in data collection and analysis and giving meaning to data and can translate this expertise into a banking context.
