The Sr. Communications Specialist is a key member of the Insurance Global Communications team responsible for developing and driving lines of communication within the organization among employees and implements policies and programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge of activities affecting employees.
About the job:
The Sr. Communications Specialist will work closely with a high performing cross-functional marketing team and other internal partners including human resources and additional senior staff in a highly matrixed environment. The successful candidate will support senior leadership in key geographies, using employee-targeted communications to help the business achieve business objectives and growth priorities.
The position brings innovative thinking, delivers results in fast-changing businesses and/or regulatory environments where decision-making is guided by functional strategy.
Preference for this role is to be hybrid from our Alpharetta, GA offices but we will consider remote candidates for the right fit.
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations or related field (Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing)
Proven experience, approximately 3-5 years, working within communications and a track-record for delivering results. Supports external communications projects as needed.
Functional Knowledge: Applies comprehensive understanding of industry standards and principles, internally and externally
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills in English
Communicates clearly and effectively with knowledge of AP Style Guidelines
Ability to take raw data and develop content for a specific audience or channel
Desire to learn quickly and proactively connect the dots between BU activities and stakeholders
Delivers results and analysis for internal programs
Expert skills in Microsoft Office: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Social media experience on a variety of platforms and tools
Business Acumen: Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends communications best practices to manager and stakeholders. Ability to multi-task, manage projects and prioritize activities. Organized and detail-oriented, able to interact and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership: Manages communications strategy for multiple markets, including global geographies, working with diverse teams of managers, senior professionals and cross-functional teams. Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with confidential, sensitive information and reputation management activities. Ability to collaborate at all levels within the organization.
Problem-Solving: Thinks both creatively and analytically. Ability to work independently, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Dept Representative: Liaises with other internal and external communications groups to maximize opportunities and ensure consistency across the company with enterprise messaging including utilizing corporate branding standards.
