About our Team:
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager with a passion for building platforms that support software and data engineers.
About the Job:
In this role, you will oversee the teams responsible for building out Cirium’s internal data platform. You will work with talented engineers to maintain and build components that enable internal product and data engineers to scalably and effectively deliver on products and data pipelines that power the next generation of Cirium’s applications.
You should have a broad understanding of software and DevOps engineering practices. You should care about code quality, continuous improvement, and balancing technical debt, but also care deeply about people, servant leadership, coaching, mentoring, and building great teams.
You will be responsible for
Working closely with the teams, product owner, and engineering director to analyze, propose, and manage the delivery of new platform capabilities.
Promoting technical excellence within your teams while also being pragmatic.
Growing teams, people, their skills, and their careers.
Working with stakeholders in Security, Data, Architecture, and elsewhere in the business to ensure solutions adhere to best practices and corporate policy.
Driving and implementing process improvements.
Monitoring and reporting on technical progress against plans.
Extensive experience in a software engineering role as part of a product or platform delivery team.
10+ years of Software Development experience
Minimum of two years of experience leading engineering teams.
Demonstrated leadership in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline development environment.
Proven experience managing developers remotely.
Prior work on platforms, or an understanding of how platform development differs from traditional software development.
An attitude of empathy and understanding, with the ability to assume best intent in interactions.
Strong project management skills.
An understanding of the modern AWS landscape.
Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
