Overview
• As Director of Communications, you will be based in Copenhagen and have a key focus on Mastercard’s Product and Engineering communication activities, specifically within the Transfer Solutions and Real-Time Payment businesses including the Mastercard Payment Services (MPS) businesses in the Nordics.
• Matrixed reporting structure to Head of Communications, Nordic and Baltics, and the Senior Vice President, Global Communications, Products and Engineering.

Responsibilities
• Executes communications programs including external communications, internal communications, sponsorship activation, and regulatory communications for Product Engineering businesses as well as other businesses in the region.
• Works in partnership with Head of Communications for Nordics and Baltics to manage external agencies and resources.
• Implements external and internal media programming to drive Mastercard’s reputation in the Nordics and Baltics.
• Independently creates, edits and produces timely and relevant communications deliverables and content (e.g., press releases, backgrounders, FAQs, key message documents, videos, competitive landscape analysis, bylines, op-eds, speeches, and internal stories)
• Recommends internal communications and messaging ideas to management team and senior staff (e.g., video, blogs, and employee engagement)
• Plans and implements traditional media and digital activation plans in support of planned product/service launches and global announcements
• Collaborates with relevant Communications leadership and other internal stakeholders on issues management activity and crisis communications for Product & Engineering business areas and the Nordic & Baltic division. Act as press contact locally.
• Identifies and secures speaking opportunities that position Mastercard as an industry leader.
• Feed into weekly updates on key activities in market or business area to communications teams.

All about you
• Strong experience in Issues management and crisis communications
• Strong experience of media relations communications, employee communications, internal stakeholder management, event management, social media, with clear evidence of success
• Strong track record and achievements in developing and delivering creative communications programs aligned to corporate objectives
• Danish-speaker with verbal and written skills in local language
• Passion for technology, innovation and payments
• Proven media relationships across the globe and specifically in the Nordics and Baltics
• Self-starter capable of excellent media management, with track record for foresight and consultancy to the business.
• Experience of sponsorship activation, event planning, logistics and marketing and communications agency management
• Excellent written skills with the ability to produce simple and creative content
• Flexible and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to travel in the short term
