Commercial Solutions is one of the fastest growing segments at Mastercard with astounding opportunities for our company in this space. The SVP, Global Commercial Acceptance will design and execute our Commercial Card acceptance strategy globally. We are at the beginning of our commercial acceptance journey and the individual will be responsible for deploying a new suite of solutions to realize the team’s growth objectives. They will define, and implement the optimal engagement/support model, processes, and disciplines to establish MA’s partnership model as a strategic differentiator. They will be a Product executive with experience building scalable and configurable solutions at leading technology or financial companies. They will define the go-to-market strategy for B2B acceptance suite of products with a regional view across the globe. As Commercial Solutions continues to win new business from issuers, corporates and platform partners, the need for scalable, automated, trusted, and seamless delivery of card payments to suppliers is all the more critical to realize and optimize the GDV opportunity.

The SVP, Global Commercial Acceptance is a significant leadership role within Mastercard’s Global Commercial Card team and will report to the EVP Global Head of Commercial Card. The leader in this role is a key stakeholder in developing, expanding, and executing the Commercial Card acceptance strategy for Mastercard, in close collaboration with key internal stakeholders, including Acquiring business development teams across the globe. The key objectives are (1) expand our existing suite of commercial acceptance products and value add services to augment our value proposition and thus increase commercial card’s penetration of B2B spend, (2) establish and leverage a global framework to engage with the commercial acquiring community in all the regions, targeting domestic and cross-border flows, and (3) augment our offering and accelerate speed to market through strategic partnerships.

The position will:
• Grow the current team and expand to build out an efficient team structure focused to deliver B2B acceptance.
• Design and execute the global Commercial Acceptance product roadmap, in close coordination with the leadership of the Commercial Solutions regional product and BD teams, the Commercial Card Platform group as well as our partners in Consumer Acceptance group.
• Deliver successful solutions at scale, possess executive presence across influential stakeholders, and be a skilled leader to ensure the delivery of programs and services across cross-functional teams.
• Partner with the Commercial Card Platform team to deliver new products to market across geographies and industry verticals.
• They will liaise across marketing functions to ensure our card acquiring agenda is aligned and prioritized. They will define customer acquisition strategy closely with the regional Account Management teams.
• The role will make introductions, develop, and proactively maintain relationships with potential customers, partners, and other key stakeholders at the C-suite level.
• Provide thought leadership materials and participate in key relevant industry forums.
• They will engage customers/partners in strategic dialogue and partnerships covering the full spectrum of Mastercard assets, capabilities, and solutions.
• The incumbent will serve as the expert and advocate for the business segment to identify and understand the opportunities, challenges, and potential partner priorities to establish mutually beneficial partnerships/commercial relationships.
• They will need to develop strong internal executive level partnerships to ensure cross-functional alignment and maximum support.

• Is deeply embedded in the card acquiring community and can support products in various industry verticals and/or geography. Their understanding will be deeply embedded in the payments industry and an expert in fields of card acquiring and payments.
• Has proven ability to build and leverage payments technology and innovation to drive results.
• Require demonstrated multi-disciplinary knowledge, i.e., product development, emerging technologies, business development, marketing, operations, risk, etc.
• Embedded in the card acquiring community and can support acceptance products in various industry verticals.
• Must have a demonstrated track record formulating, implementing, and enhancing strategic initiatives and business plans.
• Demonstrated success evaluating complex strategic initiatives, facilitating, influencing, and contributing to design advancement.
• Can draw insights from a broad range of industries and/or markets and reflecting them in solutions and strategies.
• Establishing advisor to collaborate with stakeholders at the global/regional or local level.
• Strong relationship building skills and highly collaborative; excellent listening skills and facilitating / guiding senior executives/colleagues.
• Senior stakeholder management and credibility to interact with senior executives inside and outside of Mastercard.
• Intellectual and analytical curiosity, who can manage multiple priorities in time sensitive and challenging/dynamic environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams/projects and helping frame, design and execute solutions for challenging and at times ambiguous business problems.
• Experience leading/motivating and managing teams and mentoring other colleagues within a matrixed organization.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including communicating thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in oral and written form.
• Payments industry experience with product leadership, preferably an expert in acceptance solutions.
• Experience with client engagement and project management.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
