Junior Sustainability Specialist - Material Economics

  • Stockholm

Who You'll Work With

Material Economics is a sustainability focused professional services firm fully owned by McKinsey and Company.
You will be based in our Stockholm office as part of Material Economics and the Sustainability practice. You will collaborate with Material Economics and McKinsey partners and consultants to solve key strategic imperatives in material transformation and circularity.
The McKinsey Sustainability practice seeks to be the preeminent impact partner and advisor for our clients, from the board room to the engine room, on sustainability, climate, energy transition, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG). We are committed to investing behind this goal over the next four year – through our client service, knowledge and capability building, acquisitions and alliances as well as pro-bono investments.

What You'll Do

You will join Material Economics and the Sustainability Practice and work in teams of typically 3–5 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of client engagement.
This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll also have the opportunity to present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.
Junior specialists receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams. This support includes a partner from the Material Economics team assigned to you to help guide your career as well as up to five weeks of formal training in your first few years. Additionally, you’ll receive guidance and support from the Sustainability practice in the selection of client projects, helping you to develop your skills and build your network.
You will develop specialized knowledge in sustainability, material transformation and circularity as you progress through your career at Material Economics and McKinsey.
