The Opportunity:

The prime responsibility of this finance role is to support the Group Commercial Finance Director in the financial planning, forecasting, and reporting of the North America region, acting as a trusted advisor. The GCF team are highly visible and take a lead role in evaluating the financial performance of the Group against strategic objectives, through the use of models, accounting software and MI analysis tools. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and decision support to optimise performance.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Become a trusted advisor to the North America leadership team, identifying opportunities for improvement and providing robust financial evaluation to inform and influence decision making.

  • Ability to articulate to GCF Director what is “good, bad, getting better, getting worse” and make recommendations.

  • Provide monthly analysis of the North American performance against budget, forecast and prior years, identifying risks and opportunities, and apply a solution-based approach to problem solving.

  • Ensure that all data and reporting on North America is robust and accurate, highlighting inaccuracies and driving continuous improvement, cross functionally.

  • Adopt a rhythmic approach to stakeholder management, by creating timely

  • reports in consistent formats, which are understandable to both finance and non-finance colleagues.

  • Lead the execution of forecast, budget and strategic planning processes for North America including investment appraisals.

  • Adopt a process improvement mindset, look for ways to drive efficiency through automation and systems development, and share expertise across Finance.

  • Support the wider GCF team with ad-hoc special projects and the development of planning models to evaluate future performance, as required.

  • Evaluate any potential investment opportunities and provide post investment appraisal of any such opportunities.

Desirable Requirements:

  • IT confident; Excel and PowerPoint essential, experience in Adaptive, Workday and Kantata advantageous.

  • Experienced in managing multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interpret diverse and complex data and summarise for senior stakeholders.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Positive attitude, resilient to change and a continuous improvement attitude.

  • Independent and proven ability to deliver in a regional role for an international business.

For Candidates in the state of New York, this role is budgeted between $120,000 - $145,000 annually.
