About the role 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and helpful DevOps Engineer to join our tech team in order to enable technical excellence.

We’re a pragmatic team here at Superscript; we host on Heroku and Netlify and don’t have K8s in our stack. Our continuous pipeline is fully automated, and we release code to production multiple times a day.

This role’s mission is to make our engineers as happy as possible. You will be building a platform to make our developer experience a joy and our code to run in production like a well oiled machine.

What you'll get up to 

Every day is different! As a DevOps Engineer you will help the engineering team with the necessary tooling to support our growing infrastructure. You’ll contribute to Superscript’s success by:

• Empowering our engineers to be responsible for designing, writing, deploying and maintaining their solutions
• Improving our engineering team’s cycle time by taking their cognitive load
• Creating and maintaining internal tooling
• Interacting with teams and engineering leadership to find pain points
• Ensuring our CI/CD practices are the best they can be
• Keeping up to date with the latest trends in software engineering and DevOps
• Meeting and exceeding our internal and partner SLA’s
• Balancing tech direction and business value

About you

We don’t like to put people into boxes, but it’s safe to say you;

• Have experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Deep knowledge of infrastructure as code approaches such as Terraform
• Appreciation for our tech stack: Laravel, Heroku, Netlify, Event Sourcing
• Passionate about empowering engineers and developer experience
• Can use Github Actions (CI and maintainable workflow suites)
• Background of measuring and reporting on various metrics for a tech team
• Experience with AWS (Heroku and Netlify a big plus)
• Knowledge or when (and when not) to use Docker, Terraform and Kubernetes
• The ability to create simple solutions for complex problems
