As a rapidly expanding company, we require a high calibre Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our finance function. As part of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of finance function and ensuring that finance integrates with operations and other disciplines within the business. This role requires the individual to work from our office in Newcastle twice a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Update and manage the daily cashflow management process.
• Maintain and manage bank accounts including reconciliations.
• Manage the purchase approval process.
• Run monthly payrolls reviewing, including reconciling monthly P32s, remitting PAYE and pension contributions.
• Prepare VAT returns (exposure to Partial Exemption calculations would be preferable).
• Process and control accounts payable ledger including weekly payment runs.
• In conjunction with the senior management team, continuously look for operational, commercial and managerial process improvements.
• Manage the expenses process to ensure expenses are within policy guidelines.
• Ad hoc duties as and when required,

Your experience and background:

The ideal candidate would have all of the following criteria, and a few of the preferred:

Must have:

● Proven experience of managing financial functions and tools.

● Excellent communication skills

● Excellent skills in developing relationships with Internal and external stakeholders

● Strong attention to detail

● Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel

● To be located in Newcastle Region

Preferred:

● Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role

● Knowledge in the Payments industry would be considered a plus

● Experience in Quickbooks Online
